Eustace
Silversmith, Painter
I was born in Córdoba in 1940 and have been living in Almodóvar del Río for about 40 years now. I have always liked to draw, and since my father wanted me to be an artist, he enrolled me in the Córdoba School of Arts and Crafts on Santiago Street at a very young age.
While I was working as a silversmith in a workshop, they let me go out to go to class, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. I did 4 years of drawing, 2 of modeling and 2 of engraving. And when I was 18 I went to Seville, where I studied Fine Arts.
My father insisted that I go to Madrid, where I lived for a year in the house of some of his friends.
Since I had free time, I started working as a silversmith, something that was scarce there. I didn't like the life that artists led in Madrid, and I preferred to leave the capital and return to my homeland to work and do what I like, painting.
